Plan Your Trip to Disney World

As much as we love to explore the (real) world, we are Disney addicts at heart. We somehow find ourselves at a Disney park every year – Disneyland, Tokyo Disney or Walt Disney World.

A few weeks ago we shared the basics of how to plan a trip to Walt Disney World (WDW). Today, we’re going to dig a little deeper into the planning that we do before our trip to Disney World.

Please keep in mind that most of our trips are just the two of us. If you have kids or are traveling with a large group, some things may be different for you. But, we still think many of the same principles can apply to everyone!

If you don’t have a spreadsheet already, now would be a great time to make one. We like to use Google sheets so all our information is in one shared place and we can always have access to it! My Disney Experience will show your plans, but we think it’s just easier to view on one sheet.

WDW requires a lot more planning than the other parks because there are 4 parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom & Hollywood Studios), FastPass+ reservations and advanced dining reservations. For the purposes of this blog post, we are going to assume you are staying on-site at a Disney Resort.

To Hop or Not – Park Hopping

When buying your park tickets you need to decide whether you want to park hop or not. What is park hopping? Park hopping means you can go to one park, say Magic Kingdom in the morning and then go into another park like Epcot later in the same day. You could go back and forth or go to all 4 parks if you really wanted to!
